Are there any spots left in the tournament? I think my team would be pretty interested in going, since it's relatively close (going to a prep school in NJ now)

Well, it is better for jr. high or middle school teams who really have no competition in their area to get a feel for how they compare to other teams across the nation. I mean, playing high schools was fun and all at Marymount, but we would've been more motivated and focused on our matches if we kne...

Regarding :chip: 's reduction of costs for teams from $150 per person to $600 per team...I think it's mainly for teams like Harrison, who had 9 people on their A team...as well as a seperate B Team...

From what I heard and saw at :chip: 's tournament at DC, South Brunswick was pretty good. Is their team primarily made of seniors or underclassmen?

Are there many tournaments in NJ? I'll be going to a prep school in NJ this coming year, so I was just curious.

Re: Harrison

I'm not prepared to say that we are better than Harrison, but based on a narrow, single match in which we were short handed (not to mention, not our usual format; as we tend to do better when there is more math) From what I saw at Washington, Harrison's Fuhe is pretty quick on those math questions ...

Is it necessary that you must have a 4-2 record to make the playoffs? Back in my high school day, it was a set # of teams (either 20 or 16, depending on the total size of the field), and sometimes .500 teams could make it. That's lame to me if they changed it, since 15 is an awkward number and my a...

We found the NAC fun, though I can't really compare it to the other tournaments, seeing as it was our first one. We found the NAC fun and as a reward for our season this year. We also liked the fact that DC was within driving distance and that it would be a cool place to visit, even for those who ha...

We're 4-2 now: we beat Shepton A and Shepton B. They were worthy opponents.

I would be happy to hear any information that can be had about West Virginia teams in the NAC. It looks to me like Ripley High was at San Antonio, and Bridgeport High and Jackson Jr. High will be at D.C. As far as I know, I believe Brideport is 1-3, though I'm not sure. One of their biggest matches...

Both Byram Hills and Hastings will be going to Orlando this year, as well as the other top teams at the NAC from last year, including White Plains, Shanghai American, St. Thomas, and St. Joseph's.

The Marymount schedule just came up today. We're pretty happy with the schedule :chip: gave us, because it gives us time to roam around D.C.

These states have not had representation in at least the last four years... Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maine, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, Nevada, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Wyoming. Please correct if I screwed up. West Virginia usually doesn't send teams to NAQT...

Ok...I assumed as much...but...did you find out at a tournament? Because I don't think we ever had even talked about it with anyone else before the Catholic tournament.

Here's the statement that you were looking for under the rules and regulations.

"1. Each contest features two teams of four players each from one high school."

Re: NAC Discussion

Apparently a junior high school from Parkersburg is ATTEMPTING to attend the Washington D.C. branch. I really do understand where you are coming from. And, to be honest, I didn't think that we would be allowed as well, considering, as you said, it is a high school national championship. If there wa...

Uh...it is true that a jr. high school team has in fact registered for the D.C. phase for the NAC...considering I'm on that team. I go to Jackson Jr. High School. Jackson's currently comprised of 7th-9th graders, but Jackson will be changing to a middle school in 2 years. Our team comprises of three...
