Re: MO Trash: The Rob Pilatus Memorial Tournament - 10.19.08

Hey all - As you could probably have guessed from the non-posting of stats, the stats don't really exist for the tournament. I had prelim stats in an SQBS file just to get rankings for playoffs done; that file was lost somehow. Going through my statsheets last night showed that I have portions of ro...

I agree. Certainly Quiz Bowl does not involve the physicality of a sport. I used the term merely for lack of a better one. My point was, our school is trying to be supportive of our team. Yeah, the problem is that not only does it distract the other team, it also is a pain for a moderator to yell at a team multiple times during a match. A list of things to never do when running tournaments

As some have noted, I took on a conspicuous absence after my first tournament, the Rob Pilatus Memorial Tournament for Booze Education and Stuff, was a trainwreck. I skipped out on the forums basically for two reasons. First, I needed a break from quiz bowl in general. Second, I wanted to write this...

So not only did someone read the wrong round, the stats dude didn't show, as did one team that was promised to be here, leading to a pair of half teams to fill out a bracket that now includes Ryan Westbrook.

Prepare for a meta tossup on how much this thing failed.
