Worksheets

This just came to me after forgetting, but HS questions seemed to change around 2005-2007 (when NAQT came in prominence). Before this time, it seemed like a large amount of tournaments had worksheets in the 3rd round. There were some oddball ones that were a part of this, like airport codes. What ar...

Re: Discussion of press coverage of HSNCT/quizbowl events

There has always been a problem with press coverage of quiz bowl. It depends on how well covered education is locally. As an example, in our area. James Island has played legitimate quiz bowl for the last 25 years or so, and in my years it was a struggle to get good press coverage of the team. Spell...

Worksheets. Those were huge when I was playing 6-7 years ago. Almost every tournament had those. Also the different styles of buzzers depending on who brought them. Also so many different types of tournaments. NAQT was the dominant style in '07-'08-'09, but we had HSAPQ questions (more dedicated to ...

When I played at James Island, we drove twice to Nashville (about 550 miles or so). One drive was to Ezell-Harding, the other to a tournament at Vanderbilt. We flew to Boston, New Orleans and to Chicago when we played there. Except for 3-4 tournaments in-state every year, we drove about 250-350 mile...
