Re: Tournament Database Search by Team
It looks like a Yellowfruit build changed the way stat reports are generated, which ended up causing the parser to not run properly on those tournaments. They should be fixed now, though if anyone notices any incorrect reports please let me know. Also, I've noticed that if a name is changed in NAQT'...

Since ACF Regionals is approaching, I have created schedules with byes for 12, 16, 20, and 24 teams. If you're running a tournament with a different number of teams that needs byes and doesn't, let me know and I can quickly whip up a schedule. In other news, I have a Patreon if you want to support me.

It has occurred to me that it's been a really long time since I've seen "The Knot". It was a 16-player buzzer system, obstinately for four teams of four, but with all 16 cables coming out of a central console. The cables naturally became tangled up in a way that seemed to defy 3-dimensiona...

Note that NAQT (IS-###X) sets have 13 packets, but they (historically, at least) do a poor job of ensuring hosts are aware of this option. For the record, our current policy is that we ask every host if they would prefer the 13-packet version of the set. (and more generally, we switched from 14-pac...

My concern for some of those schedules is that NAQT (and several other housewritten sets) only have 12 packets. If you assume you need 2 for finals, that leaves only 10 rounds to do everything else in.

As part of my schedule generator (see sig), I'm hoping to make a bunch of high school schedule templates for people to use. I think I have it working such that results from recent Yellowfruit tournaments no longer have odd links in there that shouldn't be there. There should now be schedule templates up for all ACF and NAQT-approved college formats up through 24 teams. The one caveat is that at the moment some schedules (I think 16 and 20 teams, for a couple of examples) don't have byes built-in, so if you're hosting ACF Fall, were planning on using this, a...

One of TJ's tournaments (the one that used to be MLK weekend I believe) used to do this. If you answered a tossup on say Alexander the Great, you got a bonus about the lands he conquered. One mitigating factor of going to 3x12 -> 6x6 is that one fewer tiebreaker game has to be played, which means over a round's worth of time doesn't have to be spent confirming records and playing lunchtime tiebreakers. You'd only need one additional packet's worth of questions and time, not two.
