Even so, the bonus cycle far too difficult. If I remember correctly, the bonus parts tested a very high level of math knowledge (Calculus 3 up?) which is inaccessible to most students. I don't know the stats or what the question actually looked like, but the new year holidays tossup seemed very generous on powers. Other than Diophantine equations, I think Fibonacci was repeated in some form as well.

Out of curiosity, in NAQT geography tossups is preference given to states that are less populated? I recall in ordinate amount of tossups on the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, etc. I'm pretty fine at geography but, honestly, there's no way I'm going to power South Dakota.

While you're going through these, Mostafa got all of my points in our match against Pickens. I got something like 2 powers, 4-6 10's, and chances are a neg or two. At least, I don't remember sitting idly that round.

TUH also reverted back to 0 for all teams.

Yeah, it sucks when #5 and #6 never have an opportunity to play the team that finished just ahead of them. I don't know if anything could have been done particularly to prevent this from happening.

I was only kind of mad about the prelim brackets, which placed alpharetta, hooch, dorman, and central in the same bracket. It's not something that can be done on command. I still think it's worth it. It's not as if they break on a regular basis. This has happened probably twice in four years between multiple sets that we own. You can weigh your priorities, I guess.

Norcross would like to run a mirror of this (again) on the same day (3/5/11). The field will be limited to either 16 or 24 teams. We hope to attract as many of the top SE teams as possible to make for a pretty dense field.

Congratulations to Brookwood on winning High Q this year. Also to Centennial for their showing at High Q and as state champions.

Does anyone know the reason why there are byes in the High Q brackets? I know some of how the brackets are filled but this doesn't make much sense to me.
