If I'm right, I think that the Culver Midwest Championship happened after Illinois NAQT States, and only one team (Loyola) made it out. The thing about a longer time is that it does tend to reward knowledge and forgive a lack of instantaneous knowledge. I prefer this. Think of a player who recognizes something in the first line, but doesn't come up with the answer right away. In the 4 seconds it takes for him to remember, more clues...
