I am not "copping-out" here. The results from this season seem to fit a good blend at the #2 spot.

Stuyvesant may be sending a few teams over. We'll have to see about our finances etc.

Re: Prison Bowl II (1/31/09)
Overall, an excellent tournament. Well run, good questions, free food--everything went well. We had one issue with a moderator who had quite a bit of trouble enunciating and peppered everything with a generous layer of "ums", but it wasn't a major issue and the other facets of the tourname...

Re: M.O.H.I.T. at TJHSST (01/10/09)
I thought the postmodernism question was a bit odd--one usually doesn't think of it in regards to architecture, but I guess as an architecture school reject I shouldn't quibble. I quite enjoyed this tournament, and I apologize for our team's lateness. Our oversleeping combined with a cabbie who got ...

Re: Prison Bowl II (2/21/09)
We'll try to send around four or five teams, but it's contingent on us getting funding from the Stuy Alumni Association.

Stuyvesant would like to regretfully withdraw our team. We have been cut off from our source of funds and would be unable to pay the registration fee (or the costs of hotels and transportation).

Re: Harvard Fall Tournament III (11/15/08) -- Cambridge, MA
This is probably the worst thing I could say after all those intense discussions of field size., but half of our A team can't come and none of our B or C teamers can step up (thanks mostly to my laziness and inability to communicate). As such, Stuyvesant will not be attending.

Stuy may be sending a team or two. Unless my terminal lateness has bitten me in the ass again.

Re: What got you into Quizbowl?
I was a timid little incoming sophomore (from a school that hadn't even heard of quizbowl), and I knew I wanted to join some sort of academic club. It came down to either speech & debate or quizbowl, and I chose the tiny team the administration hated over the giant, rich one they loved. But hey,...

Re: LIFT VIII (10/18/08)
In re HHHW: there was some definite bracket grief to be had; Stuy A had to face Stuy B in the first round of playoffs, which probably hurt Stuy B's rankings considerably. I'm not complaining however; it wasn't the fault of bad bracketing, but rather simple bad luck. Overall, it was a very well-run t...

Re: NY/NJ 2007-08
My prediction would be that Doug and I show up, and either Aidan or Danny drops out at the last minute per last year. You never will let me live that one down, will you? I think since there will be no car rides across half the country this year, I can make it. And no, there is no point to this post...
