Re: PAQT @ Richard Montgomery HS (3/6/10)
As of right now, there are 6 registered teams for PAQT. We need at least 15 teams registered by Wednesday to show the school that we are not losing money on the tournament. That doesn't mean we're capping at 15 or closing registration on Wednesday, it just means that if we do not have 15 teams we'll...

Re: Maryland Fall Tournament (9/26/09)
Hammond thought the tournament was on the 19th, not the 12th, so they didn't show up.
RM will hopefully be bringing 2 teams, but I may not be in attendance.

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
I'm trying to post the SQBS file, but
1. It won't accept a data file and
2. If I "make web report" and try to upload the HTML file, it identifies it as a potential attack vector and won't let me upload it.
Anyone know what to do?

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
So here's the situation: Because we changed the bracketing right before the tournament, I don't have the modified schedule or a list of the finalists at home, so I can't post the last few rounds until I find a copy. Therefore, it would be very helpful if you could tell me who you played, but please ...

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
Is there any way to get some kind of round report for the stats? There's a semblance of one at the bottom of the document, but as for something more complicated, I dunno. EDIT: Upon further inspection, it isn't complete. The person we had scoring did not enter the all round numbers into the statist...

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
Here are the results. The tournament ran late because the RM building service people was AWOL (even after assuring us that they would be at the school by 8). GDS A won with a perfect 12-0 record, St. Anselms won second (losing twice to GDS A), TJ A 3rd and WJ at 4th. Hammond didn't show up, so they ...

The tournament should be over by 4, 4:30 at the latest.
We're sticking with single elimination.

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
Since we had teams registering/withdrawing up until about an hour ago, no field/ definite bracket could be set. Unfortunately, DCC and Howard are now unable to come. Yeah, they did.
I'm not sure if they are driving down here, but I think they deserve the driving discount.

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
We aren't planning on making a bracket until we know how many teams we have coming (At the moment, we have 1 team registered). Also, part of the bracket is the number of rounds. After reading the complaints and crunching some numbers, I realized/realize that 14 rounds might get a little long, so if ...

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
Math comp shall be omitted from the tournament. Also, in response to an earlier comment, scores should be up soon after the tournament. Bearing computer malfunction, they will be posted at latest by the evening of the 12th. And yes, we will have a ridiculous number of rounds. No pain, no gain. RotP ...

Re: Rumble on the Pike 2009
NAQT did not offer us an option on math comp, and I was not aware we were given a choice. However, since Princeton is already running this same packet, I'm assuming they made the decision earlier, and since NAQT is giving us the same set, we were not asked. As far as moderators go: Thank you for tho...

Rumble on the Pike 2009
Richard Montgomery is ridiculously pleased to announce that Rumble on the Pike will be returning on September 12th, 2009, after it's one year hiatus. The tournament will be run using the NAQT IS-86 set, so this will be the year's first NAQT Nationals Qualifier. (This will no longer be a "warm-u...

Re: DEATH at Richard Montgomery 09/12/09
We talked to NAQT, and they agreed to let us run IS-86 as a Nationals Qualifier on September 12th.
IS-86 is the same set being run in Princeton.
Needless to say, this changes a few things about the tournament, and a new thread about it will be posted shortly.

Re: DEATH at Richard Montgomery 09/12/09
I appreciate the concerns voiced by some of you about being able to host a solid tournament by September 12th, but I am positive that we will be able to run one with high-quality sets, regardless of the change in distribution. Our current distribution is similar to NAQT distribution, except it focus...

Re: DEATH at Richard Montgomery 09/12/09
The distribution posted was based on the questions written over the summer by the RM players. However, I can see that there are several holes in it, and I apologize for the hypocrisy of omitting those major categories and still calling this a well-distributed early season tournament. 5 history 5 Lit...

DEATH at Richard Montgomery 09/12/09
RM is happy to announce that we will be hosting the first ever Dangerously Excellent Academic Tournament (Housewritten), AKA DEATH, on September the 12th, 2009. The tournament will be 20/20 pyramidals, with the number of rounds and tournament structure to be based on the number of entries, though we...

Re: Delaware Fall Open IX (12/20/08) Wilmington, DE
RM will be there, most probably with 1 "V", 1 JV team, but that might become 2-1. Not sure yet, but we can get back to you soon.
The JV is a really good idea, and I'm happy to see somebody is taking the initiative to make a tournament where everyone can play inside their comfort level.

Re: 2008 TJIAT (10/18/08) at TJHSST
Having no e-mails nor the capabilities on this particular laptop to find them, I'd just like to write down here that RM will be sending 2-3 teams, and that we'll get a proper count by the 7th For Sure.
