Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: VCU Open Mirror at Stanford (08/13/11)

Is anyone planning on traveling from around the Seattle area? I'd go, play, and join whatever team if there was a contingent that could provide transportation

Re: North Carolina 2009-2010

Congratulations to the Cobra Kings for winning, and to Raleigh Charter for hosting, what I hear was an thoroughly enjoyable tournament. UPDATE on Hoggard Invitational: BIG NEWS: This tournament will likely now be a mirror of Yale University's famous high school tournament, BHSAT! (Bulldog High Schoo...

Re: North Carolina 2009-2010

Ok, judging from other coach's responses it looks like 12/19 is going to work out better than 12/12. In addition, some new teams from the Carteret county area (who have, sadly not been playing "Good Quiz Bowl") have expressed interest, so for the sake of expanding the circuit etc. etc. it looks like...

Re: North Carolina 2009-2010

hmmm 12/19 then? although that might be cutting it too close to winter break...well if it works out it works out, if theres not enough demand, so be it. (also, @new trier, that sounds like a great deal. what lvl do you think theyd be, HSNCT or a bit below that?)

Re: South Carolina 2009-2010

It looks like there's room for a season-ending tournament just before break (12/12 or 12/19) would any SC teams be interested (or able, for that matter, I know it's a bit out of the way for some) in coming to Hoggard High School, located in Wilmington, NC for a regular NAQT tournament? This post is ...

Re: North Carolina '08-'09

I got good by playing solo packets against my dad/friends during xmas break one year. We just went through the 05 maryland Spring classic (excellent packets) and it just sorta stuck. That and just paying attention in class is incredibly helpful

Is ACE camp any good? I might recommend it to a few of my freshman if its worth it. Always wanted to go myself, but never really had the time

Re: North Carolina '08-'09

Yeah Brice!

glad to see this is becoming a more fleshed out idea, I think the kids who competed last year enjoyed it. Joshua said it inspired him to start the team at Gaston Day, and they aren't half bad

Re: High School Celebrity Shoot - 11/1/08 @ Duke

Sorry about that, I'd like to explain that a little bit further. Cobra Kings is Hoggard, but School Policy mandates that in order to represent the school we have to use school transportation (i.e. a bus) and have a school representative chaperone us. Because of the corresponding cost increase for re...
