It may be preaching to the choir, but it still draws an Amen from me.
I've been very fortunate in Ohio -- specifically in the northwest -- that even if the powers that be won't full-scale adopt tossup/bonus, they don't actively try to discourage it.

I recommend the BBC Global News Podcast and any of the Economist podcasts, with the speed cranked to at least 2x to keep/enhance your listening skill at national pace -- especially if you aren't exposed to that level of speaking speed at your local tournaments during the regular season.

Re: Outreach Advice Wanted
It's simply the Hicksville Invitational. This was the fourth year running, we drew 24 teams which was the max I wanted. We had two schools from Michigan come down.
A little further (one county) into the state is Pettisville -- I'll be running Petti Warz 2 on March 2 using IS-181.

Re: Outreach Advice Wanted
My experience with Indiana is limited, but I'm going to assume that there are many schools that would qualify as small like there are in Ohio. The most success I've had in Ohio is to reference the teams that have been able to get to SSNCT and, even in their first appearances there, had success. Then...

Ohio will be represented by 24 teams (possibly 27 if the standbys clear) in the public class and 7 in the open. Once again, the line is led by Ottawa Hills, but this time they will have company. Cloverleaf, which lost enough enrollment to get under the bar this year, went 5-5 at last year's HSNCT an...

Ottawa Hills A leads the line for Ohio. On IS-158 in league play, they averaged 18 ppb and broke 500 (over 24 tossups) 3 times in 7 matches. I always want to see them play more, but it never seems to hurt them when this tournament comes around. Newbury returns most of the team that finished t-25 las...
