Re: ACF Regionals at the UChicago (2/23/2013)

Matthew Menard and Sam Bailey are hosting an after party, now that they've been badgered into it. Ask us about it on Saturday if you're already thinking, "Ah man, I've always wanted to get jiggy with Chicago quiz bowl."

Obviously, we will listen to plenty of Will Smith.

Re: Sexism, Sexual Harassment, and Quizbowl

It's great people can take this seriously. I don't want to be very specific about the things that have happened to me, because I'm still here and so obviously I wasn't offended enough to quit quiz bowl, but I can certainly imagine these things making other people uncomfortable. Re: Sexism, Sexual Harassment, and Quizbowl

This is going to sound so simple, but "just be nice" seems to be the ultimate answer. Don't be insensitive and don't other. You can't wait for someone to complain about unacceptable behavior to deal with the problem, because frankly, I'd wager that 9/10 people would leave your club before ...

Thanks for hosting this tournament! There were a couple of hiccups throughout the day, and it is my personal opinion that tournament directors should not ever split their time between TD-ing and playing, but I think you guys did a good job without that much experience. I think Poly B just had to leave, so during the rebracketing they just put a sign of some sort to symbolize where PolyB would have stood had they not left. PACE #2 or ACF #4 sound good. And even if IS81 didn't have its problems, a regular IS set wouldn't exactly provide a nationals-level difficulty.

This is such a nice idea! =] If it rolls, I'll definitely bring 2-3 teams.
