Re: Clearinghouse for Random Packet Announcements
Here comes a random trash packet by #hchsqb! Mehnaj Ahmed, Auroni Gupta, Richard Yu and I have collaborated on a packet affectionately named "69 Buzz Songs and A Neg of Despair". It will feature self-indulgent trash tossups mostly about music near and dear to our hearts, with some TV and a...

Re: OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Hip-hop Doubles Tournament
Definitely a lot of fun with a couple of really cool answers to boot. Some 20s were generous, and a few leadins here or there had some buzzer races, but that sort of thing happens at niche tournaments like this.
Are there going to be more mirrors, or will this set be released and posted some time?

Re: How to Buzz
If this is a question on actual buzzer technique, do something that feels comfortable and is ergonomic and all that. If your trigger finger hurts at the end of tournaments because you've been trying to "Dorman buzz" all day or something, try something different. Just do something that feel...

Re: RESULTS: 2012 Mid-Season HS poll, Congratulations Hunter A!
I don't quite understand how Hunter got 372 votes and Centennial got 356? Assuming 25 for 1st place, 24 for 2nd, etc., Hunter got 12*25=300 points from first place votes, so they must have been 2nd in the remaining 3 ballots. But if you place Centennial in the highest remaining spot in every remain...

I really don't see the trouble with just saying "for fifteen points" instead of "for ten points", but the point was made earlier - either write an easier tossup, or make it a bonus part.

Question: Do either LIFT or HHH qualify as tournaments that would make a player ineligible to attend? I know that HHH uses NAQT-A question sets, so I'm not sure if that would count. Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: ECSO2 @ Hunter College (7/10/10)
I'm tentatively capping the field at 9 teams. We have 11 packets, so 9 teams lets us play a full RR followed by a full final if necessary. Nine teams also gives us byes, which will give us staff. If Kurtis sends word that there are more packets, or if Yetman rouses up staffers that we can count on ...

Unfortunately I don't keep up enough with the local circuit, I'm learning a lot about New Jersey teams reading this myself.
I will say that I think Stuyvesant has potential-having read for their B team at Prison Bowl, they seemed like a solid team and are bringing back their main players.
