Re: University of Alabama: MUT Mirror - 3/27/10

The only field changes have happened in this thread. I still haven't gotten confirmation from anyone but Snead... And we can talk about any other discounts via e-mail, if you'd like. Please, if you wish to attend, let us hear back through e-mail ASAP. I'll be sending out an e-mail of our own to chec...

UA will probably be coming to this. Wasn't there supposed to be a tournament at Shorter the same weekend?

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Pricing information is up. Detailed maps will be up later, as well as e-mailed to schools that have e-mailed us to confirm. We may actually be doing 91A, depending on if NAQT isn't fed up with our constant switching, as one other school has already heard 89A.

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Well... I never intended to cause this much ado about anything... and this may also cause ado, but whatever. I've contacted NAQT, and we're going to switch to an A-set and put on this tournament. I would ask that all teams interested in coming e-mail us at aaqt@bama.ua.edu. We hope to have a fun tim...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Well, our bid to host a Penn Bowl Mirror might not even work anyway. So, here's the options. 1) We host our tournament using IS-90, CUT-style. 2) We host our tournament using an A-set, CUT-style. Penn Bowl is still an option, but it's looking doubtful, all factors considered. I would like to know wh...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

An A-set may work, especially if we're having a large amount of CC interest that would be otherwise deterred by our use of IS-90. And I still haven't heard back from Penn after messaging them earlier. Perhaps an A set would work better for people?

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Sean: You gotta get these things sorted out ahead of time! There were several opportunities for you guys to host a tournament in October and even early December. I just got annoyed that your tournament conflicted with our tournament and I thought you could have done a better job of mapping the deta...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Jake, you know I don't want to take away any teams from your tournament, but the conflict will be there be it IS or Penn Bowl. I merely brought up the idea because others seem to express interest in it, and the IS-90 set is apparently problematic for several potential teams. So, if at all possible, ...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

Well, we hope to host one more tournament after Ackbar. Perhaps it will be the MUT mirror. In this case, we currently have reserved IS-90. However, I'm trying to see if switching to, say, IS-92 would make things easier for schools to come participate. Since A-Sets were pretty thoroughly shot down, w...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

All right. We've garnered a bit of interest, enough for maybe 5 or 6 CUT teams, and Alabama hopes to throw in some of our own new and somewhat inexperienced players. Cost and location will be announced as soon as I get e-mails back from those that are in charge of those things. There will definitely...

UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 30

We're trying this again. As just a for fun, loose CUT-style IS A-set tournament, the University of Alabama will be hosting the Admiral Ackbar Invitational January 30. We hope you can attend. We want it to be a good time and small break before NAQT Sectionals drop in. More information will be going u...

Re: UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - 12/5/09

I'm glad I'm getting this feedback. It wasn't our intention to step on Brindlee Mountain's or on the LBW tournament. We had wanted to get in one last tournament for this term, just a fun light-weight thing, and December 5 was the last weekend before Finals Week for we UA students that would have wor...

UA Admiral Ackbar Invitational Tournament - January 2010

After discussion, UA has decided to hold off on our Admiral Ackbar tournament. We will be hosting it in January, 2010. The specific date is still pending, and while we may still do an IS set, specifics on that are now pending as well.

Re: William R. King Memorial in Tuscaloosa, AL 9/5/09

Correct. We were informed that, presumably, we would be given set 87A. It has been some time since I've discussed this with NAQT, but that is the most recent information I have. If a problem comes up, I'll be sure to contact NAQT as soon as possible.
