Since... other things have me on the board at the moment and I came upon this, I will say that my first Chicago Open proper of like an 8+ year stretch was played with Nathan (and Lorin and the waayy under-discussed Anthony DeJesus.) Re: Let's Predict Who Wins the 2016 Literature Nobel!!!!
I think this is awesome. For what it's worth, I've been reading Dylan's autobiography, Chronicles: Volume 1 , over the past few weeks, and it's really an amazing book; I'd take it over the excerpts of Knausgard I've read any day. He's obviously an off-beat pick for the Nobel, but to me, he's entire...

Re: Let's Predict Who Wins the 2016 Literature Nobel!!!!
A big problem I have with the lit Nobel, and really it's one I have with the Nobel in general is that what it is seeking to honor isn't really articulated or spelled out in a meaningful way. I think it leads to wildly varying winners, and people who might otherwise be interested in the award as a ki...

Some people in the IRC suggested casually playing some of the side events in someone's apartment after the more formal portion. Given NYC housing stock though I don't know if anyone in quizbowl in NYC has a place that can fit a dozen people, or, if they can, are game to do so.

I think it's a bit of both Mike, the idea of whether you encounter the things casually in your life and whether sports needs relatively harder answer lines.
