Re: Idaho discussion 2011-2012

Looks good to me. Unofficially, Frenchtown should definitely be able to make the Treasure Valley Tournament. We would also be interested ACF Fall or the Jayhawk Tournament were it not another 8 hour drive on the following weekend, which also happens to be an SAT date. Colin, thanks for being such a ...

Re: Montana 2010-2011

Glad to see you here on the forums, Coach McFate! I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you in some areas here. for the exception of a few teams with great players not many of the questions are being answered until the last portion is read. I see this as a positive for pyramidal questions....

We're officially bringing one team. We could bring a buzzer too, if you want. Also, do you have a field update?

This should be great. Thanks for hosting!
Frenchtown is formally expressing interest and will very likely be bringing one team.
Wait, the Fall "Kickoff" Tournament is different than the Fall Novice Tournament, right? Hopefully?

Edit: Clarity

Re: Planned HS Top 25(+?) Rankings

Frenchtown returns me, Mary, and Michael (who is still in the PACE stats as "Matt" from Totally Awesome Dudes). We lose history and chemistry/bio knowledge due to the graduation of both Joe and Taylor. We also return a sophomore who almost made the NSC team, if that counts.

It would be really cool if we could host a mirror out here. I'll talk to our coach about it. Also, what stats are necessary? Would team point totals be sufficient?

Re: Montana 2010-2011

I'm thinking we should talk to Stevensville and Beaverhead County High School about hosting tournaments, because Stevensville helped co-host our tournament last year and they have competed in all of our hosted tournaments. Beaverhead County sent a team to the HSNCT in 2008, (with Shafaieh!) and they...

Montana 2010-2011

The season's over, and though last year's topic was pretty small, the Montana quizbowl discussion can only grow! PACE NSC was fun and a great learning experience, and coming off of that I would really like to see Montana's circuit expand this year. I thought I would establish some ideas and goals fo...

Hi. I was just wondering if any Quizbowl players could help out a fairly new team short on time hoping to win a local WorldQuest competition. Science! (Not SCIENCE!)

The most devastating thing about traveling to the HSNCT was realizing that when it came to science, we could not begin to compare with other schools. (Although honestly, when it came to literature, we weren't stacking up quite as well as we do here, either.) As a member of a team that has been more ...

Well, maybe. Not Skyview. They might beat us. Just kidding. Really, though, I'll see what I can do about that. I think the 8 1/2 hour drive from Billings would deter Skyview, West, and Senior from competing. You never know, though, and Skyview's team is engaged and open to new experiences. Dillon co...

I have contacted my coach with the information Mr. Bentley sent out in his email to the Quizbowlers in the Pacific Northwest. I really see no reason why we couldn't make the 2 1/2 hour trek to Spokane, as we've made the nearly 6 hour journey to Billings. I'm not sure about Boise or Seattle, though. ...

"Negs" had been in effect in most of the tournaments we'd played in, it's just that they had never been referred to as such.
Whereas at HSNCT, it was instantly neg, neg, neg, neg, neg.

Frenchtown: Also very good. Strong in humanities. Won a tournament, frequently places in top 3. Beaverhead County/...

Frenchtown, the only MT school that attended the HSNCT. Which is really kind of sad because Skyview deserved to be there too.
