Bergen's name has been corrected, Lily's name was corrected, and Megatron's name was corrected.

Re: Foxtrot I @ MFS 4/24 (New Jersey)

Yo, Adrian! Sorry I haven't been updating this page - I've been focusing on my professional Scrabble career. (Not kidding) I should have had Tej create this thread. Anyway, can all teams confirm so that we can establish a format? Also is East Brunswick still registered? They emailed Tej a while back...

Wow, that grammar erroris nasty. I usually admonish people who make mistakes like that. I'll change it when I get home - I'm on the road now accessing this from my phone.

Re: New Jersey NAQT State Championship Results (2/13/2010)

Great tournament! Thanks a lot! (I was that kid who asked for the packet during his BYE in round 2 from Moorestown C) P.S. Do you think Moorestown Friends A could realistically obtain a wildcard spot in nationals with their sixth place finish? Keep in mind this is our "frist" year. EDIT: G...

Re: Average Score of Top Individual Players

That's a really good point that it is determined by teammates. I didn't really take that into account. I'm from New Jersey, so we have quite a few great teams and players around here. (State College, Charter, St. Joes, etc.)

Average Score of Top Individual Players

What is the average score a top player? (Maybe top 10 in a tournament) I know that there are variations between the different question sets, but I am a Quizbowl Padawan and know nothing about them.

Japanese Names

I know that this is an oddly specific question for a whole thread, but for Japanese Names, which part of the name can be given as the correct answer? Is the name generally expressed with the given name first and surname second? For example, could I give "Basho" for Matsuo Basho?

Re: Pennsylvania 2009-2010

Moravian returns Gordon from the HSNCT team. Gordon is the first player mentioned on this forum that I have actually met. I believe he averaged 80 ppg on tossups, and scored 350 out of the 400 or so points against us in the finals round of the Penn tourney. (We got crushed) They were 3-0 but had to...

Re: Swiss Pairing

We are hoping to have around 32 teams. (We're in NJ, so the tournament will probably close to that) I'm second in command for the tournament as this is a "capstone project" for my team's captain. He wanted to keep it like the format that Charter used. I wasn't there, but he said that is wa...

Swiss Pairing

Is it conceivable for a tournament to be swiss pairing, or is this unheard of? I'm thinking that swiss pairing would be good for a small/medium size tournament so that teams end up playing other teams of the same level, (eg Varsity plays Varsity, JV plays JV, Novice teams play novices in most matche...

Foxtrot I @ MFS 4/24 (New Jersey)

Moorestown Friends School in Moorestown, NJ is planning on hosting a quizbowl competition on April 24th. The tournament is PACE affiliated. We will use ACF set 10. There will be a cap of 32 teams, with a maximum of 3 teams per school, unless we decide to expand as the date draws closer. The event's ...

Re: QuAC II at UPenn in Phila., PA (11/21/09)

QuAC II was a great tournament. It was my first Quizbowl tournament and my school's first as well. (Moorestown Friends B). It was organized very well, and I my whole team had a great time. The only thing was that my first two matches were against easy teams (Mount Pleasant B, Octarara) and we crushe...
