For anyone analyzing these stats for rankings/thought, I was terribly sick (as anyone could see/hear at this tournament). I was 1/3 of our team, so I went, terrible headache, cough, and all. It turns out coughing means you mishear questions. (Who knew?)

Still, no matter how PPG is bad, no one has (or can) refute the argument that PPB distinguishes by enough margins, meaning a secondary indicator should take place. Why PPB? Why not use PPG? It aggregates tossup and bonus abilities to be more accurate across a tournament. I guess it goes to the whole thing in the rankings forum, but I think for a single tournament PPG would be better For cross-bracket comparisons, especially assuming imperfect seeding, PPB mak...

All of the tournaments posted about in this recent discussion are being considered for the next round of certification voting. Is there a way the PACE certification committee could post minutes/tournaments for consideration for upcoming meetings? That would make things easier to see and add additions

If you go by wins and losses, would the difficulty of the opponent be factored in? If not, you'd have a bunch of teams that are overrated because they are in poorer regions. If so, you'd give teams that don't play top teams every tournament a disadvantage. The reason I like PPB so much is that it i...

Midwest completely slipped my mind. We are actually thinking about going there, so using DII would make no sense. So, we still have Prison Bowl, IS 104, 102, and the HSAPQ sets to work with. I'm not sure how happy Culver would be if someone held a DII SCT mirror in Kentucky, seeing as how Dunbar and Manual went to theirs last year and it's a shorter drive from both Louisville and Lexington to Culver than to Case. I'm sure no good teams would go to the KY mirror if it were mutually excl...

Yes -- plus bouncebacks can often offset bad question writing (tossups/hoses). Plus it's aggravating as [bad word] to watch somebody 0 a bonus when you would've 30d it.

Just a warning that the Fleming County tournament will be Quick Recall, rather than Quiz Bowl. Teams from out of state should know what they're getting into... It is a timed, terribly restrictive format (hesitation rules) that is not pyramidal. It also has math comp. Edit: Less offensive to KY state...
