Re: What's the matter with Kansas?
K-State is planning to host a NAQT-format high-school tournament in late fall of next year. We will be sending out invitations to high schools in September. We hope to see a bunch of great Kansas high school teams there! We did put together a tournament this year, but unfortunately we did not get ou...

Re: DRAGOON mirror at Kansas State - Nov. 9, 2013
Are there stats for this? Please be patient about asking for stats, especially if it's the day of or after a tournament. Sorry, I was just sort of over-eager to judge the difficulty of the tournament since the site in the Northeast looks to be super competitive. My bad, I hadn't read that post befo...

Re: DRAGOON mirror at Kansas State - Nov. 9, 2013
Thanks everyone for coming to the tournament and making K-State's first tournament in five and a half years a success! We had a great time today, and we hope you all will consider coming the next time we host a tournament at K-State. Below is the link to the stats for the tournament. If you notice a...

Edit: Tulsa just registered one team (10/3), and so has Oklahoma State (10/6).

DRAGOON mirror at Kansas State - Nov. 9, 2013
We are pleased to announce that Kansas State will be hosting a mirror of UIUC’s DRAGOON tournament on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Question Set: This tournament is written by Illinois and will be a regular difficulty tournament (like ACF Regionals). The tossups will include powers. See this post for ...

Re: 2012 ACF Fall at the University of Minnesota (11/3/12)
Where do you recommend we park on the day of the tournament? I am reasonably familiar with Minneapolis, so getting there shouldn't be too hard, but I have not been on the UMN campus before, and it's hard to tell the best place from Google Maps.

Re: What's the matter with Kansas?
Charlie, you do have an excellent point that a small tournament wouldn't require a big staff. It's difficult to say exactly how many members we have since we have some who come to practice quite frequently and others who only make it once in a while, but I would say we have a core group of circa 10 ...

Re: What's the matter with Kansas?
I'm almost scared to post a reply to this thread, but as president of the quiz bowl club at Kansas State, it's kind of my obligation. By the way, we are officially called the Democratic People's Republic of Kansas. And I want to say that it is awesome that we have a history bowl in Kansas now, and I...

Re: ACF Regionals 2012 @ UIUC on 2/18/12
As the team that will be travelling the farthest, K-State avidly supports any format that will guarantee 11 matches in the fewest possible rounds. We will be leaving within an hour and expect to be in around 10:00. I am very glad that we will get to send two teams. Props to Charles for all the extra...

Re: ACF Regionals 2012 @ UIUC on 2/18/12
It looks like we will have enough to send two teams from K-State, but we're still waiting on a couple of members' work and class schedules. By the way, what is going on that weekend that has all the hotels filled up?

Re: 2012 NAQT SCT
One school has expressed interest in hosting the Region 11 SCT; I hope to have an announcement shortly. Is there any update on this? Yeah, it's getting close...an update would be great! Region 9 (ISU) isn't too far away if no Region 11 mirror is held. Kansas State will have to travel a long way if ...
