Re: 2019 IQBT NASAT - 6/22 and 6/23, Lexington, KY

We don't care where the tournament is, nor do we care who is moderating. What we care about is that Team Iowa is showing up for this little party in June. The Hawkeye State will be represented by the following personnel: Alec Albrecht, Urbandale Ne Dassanayake, Ames Max Halbach, Ankeny Centennial Ju...

Re: Misconduct Reporting Form

That question is: what are NAQT (and for that matter, all quiz bowl organizations) doing to ensure that the people they bring aboard to staff their events are properly vetted to work with students? Out of curiosity, what is the IQBL doing? IQBL is in the process of drafting and instituting a policy...

Re: Future NAQT championships

I'll be very direct here. What is NAQT doing to ensure that their staffers are properly vetted to work with students going forward? I cannot, in good conscience, register for an NAQT tournament (or any other national event, for that matter) until I know the answer to that question. NAQT's followup s...

Re: Misconduct Reporting Form

I'm grateful that all of the various organizations have decided that this is a good idea, because it certainly is. I'm grateful that NAQT has gotten behind this as well; however, in their statement released today on their social media platforms, there is one lingering question they have yet to answe...

For this post, I am taking off my CEO’s hat and setting it aside. I agree wholeheartedly with what I’ve read on this post. I’m waiting for two things. 1. I truly believe that NAQT will make the correct decision on how to go forward with respect to Mr. Bruce, and i’m convinced that faith isn’t mispla...
