Johnson Central lost their top history and science competitors in myself and Clay Davenport, and their primary math competitor in Dalton Hopper. Everyone else is returning, as far as I know.

So, I'm having complications with Piarist, so I'm not sure where I'm going to be.

The most likely option at this point is Johnson Central. I'll post on here as soon as I know.

I do know, however, that Piarist is relocating buildings sometime in the next year and that's supposed to cost a pretty hefty sum with construction and whatnot, so it might not leave the quizbowl team with much.

I'm not sure of the kind of budget the team is allotted at Piarist, but I'll advocate for us to go to as many good tournaments as we can.

A huge obstacle to progress at this point are the league structures, which usually have a majority of teams who want nothing more than what little the leagues offer. That's usually about 12 games a year, perhaps a league tournament between November and February, and all of it being played on horrib...

At the Eastern KY venue of NHBB, Glasgow won Varsity Bowl, defeating Menifee. I don't know the results for the JV Bowl. What happened on a television show we may or may not have appeared on was there was a question on "Inferno" and a notably good quiz bowl player on the other team had buzzed in with "The Divine Comedy". Because the person who wrote that question must not have envisioned someone buzzing that early on...

I find it a lot easier to focus if it's a match that keeps my attention. If it's just a blowout in our favor, I stop caring, essentially, but I still try to maintain a presence in the match.

A few buzzer malfunctions early on (which I do think was Kent's jinx from the start of the day :lol: ) but they smoothed out very quickly. I really liked the tournament, as usual, and the format under which it was played. Thanks to every competitor and staffer there for a really enjoyable tournament

Johnson Central won FCAT yesterday with Dunbar getting 2nd. Our B team won their division as well. I really have no clue on results beyond that.

Gatton Academy was a quarterfinalist and Johnson Central A and Dunbar B were semifinalists at Ezell-Harding yesterday.

I think the incoming Freshmen will be an interesting factor for a lot of teams next year. We have quite a few interesting prospects and I think it will be interesting to see how their debut season pans out.

Unfortunately, no. We're explicitly forbidden from competing in Governor's Cup; their metaphor was that of a stacked deck. NAQT and PACE are okay with it, though.

I'm not quite sure Fred, but the sets are damn near duplicates of previous years.

One team that we played against last season said, "This is one of the 2010 sets." and they were very right in thinking so.

Also: The Moderators were very very unqualified to be officiating anything, in my opinion.
