From Auburn fresh-soph in-house questions This Amy Proulx short story BUZZ Brokeback Mountain Coined by Gertrude Stein BUZZ The Lost Generation After transmogrifying BUZZ Calvin (this actually wasn't right- the answer was Thomas Nast somehow, it still counts because it should have been right.) I really really liked it, and I know the teammates of mine who attended did as well. We learned so much in such a short period of time. I still have notes I havent finished reviewing. We found that it's very effective to send multiple people to major in the different areas, and I'm pretty sure we'll...

We have three good underclassmen in addition to Beata, all of whom will most likely be attending camp this summer. As for the fifth starter, I don't know, but last year they won a couple of JV tournaments, so I think they'll be up there next year. And since Auburn's two best players are juniors, the...

One of my biggest problems with the matches I played in was the lack of history questions. I can appreciate the government, psychology, and geography questions, but not when they all come at the expense of history. I wouldn't have as big of a problem if it were not for the fact that the entire year ...

I don't disagree with the practice, but I think that the tossup should have the same category as the corresponding bonus. Eh, yes and no. While I can certainly see benefit in this, I think that the variation (my experiences have been that it happens mostly during the state series) rewards more well...

I think our biggest problem, aside from several mistakes on my part, was our inability to gain any sort of rhythm. Each time we would answer a question, there would be some gap before the next one started. We were able to win all year by establishing an early lead, getting into a groove, and never l...

The problem is, that doesn't matter. You can't replay the match. No, we can't. I was just defending a valid statement issued by my teammate. And honestly, I think that your comment was completey out of line. You were not there, you do not know the circumstances of the match, I don't think you need ...

Fremd won our regional, so I guess we'll have a rematch of the MSL championship.Sebastian wrote:Regarding Regionals (in hopes of beating ihsa.org to the punch)...
Buffalo Grove won the Libertyville regional, defeating Libertyville in the final by about 150 points.
See y'all at Stevenson on Saturday.

HAHAHA, and others from the Stevenson sectional... What are your predictions for the Regionals and then Sectionals? I know that our sectional (I'm from Buffalo Grove HS) is generally stacked, but who do you think will do well? Also, does anyone know anything about Libertyville HS? I really don't kn...

I know this is a slow response but none the less...I played WN at two JV tournaments and I don't remember Devin playing. I am fairly sure that he is a junior this year, but I may be incorrect. That has no effect on their team though, as far as JV goes they are top notch and Greg certainly was able ...

I'd agree with that list. But considering that Stevenson beat D-Mac at Richards, I'd be inclined to rank Stevenson higher. But as I didn't watch the match, and the Richards tournament is known for upsets, so I could be totally wrong. One thing that I do hope is that we (Fremd) get to play more of th...

Being from Fremd, I was quite pleased with our performance. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to play New Trier, Stevenson, or D-Mac, as I have yet to play those teams this year, but I was impressed by several teams we played (notably Maine South). I also enjoyed playing IMSA, as they a...

Best Ever Scholastic Bowlers
Who have been, in your mind, the best players ever in Illinois. The best player I have seen/played against was easily Paul Gauthier, but who else has been great? David Abram was another very good player I played against, and I know that Yogesh Raut was a very good player, but he was before my time. ...

My opinion would be that these four are running at the head of the pack (at least in Class AA)....the exact ranking might be open for debate....New Trier won the Loyola Ultima, BUT, Auburn was supposedly shorthanded. Fremd has shown some wicked awesome potential this year....might be their best tea...
