Re: 2020 ACF Fall at UChicago-Great Lakes (10/17/2020)

Thank you to everyone who came out to play and staff today! Congratulations to Ohio State A (William Rauschenberg, Edward Liu, Luke Van De Weghe, and Noah Bigger) who won a one game final over Case Western A. Case Western A (Henry Greentree, Saketh Dendi, Jeremy Nguyen, and Winston Kam) placed secon...

Re: 2020 ACF Fall at UChicago-Great Lakes (10/17/2020)

Field updates will be posted here for convenience once the field begins to materialize. Please note that this is the Great Lakes site and thus we'll be expecting teams from that region rather than from the Midwest.

OSU x3
MSU x3
CMU x3

Re: Y'all need to pay attention to your own community

I apologize to all involved in the Chicago club during the 2018-2019 year for my lack of opposition to Luke’s problematic behavior. In particular, I’d like to apologize to Mahria, Halle, and Christine for not doing a better job of creating a safe and healthy space among the D2 players. I’m not sure ...

Re: NAQT Novice @ UChicago (10/13/18)

This tournament did end up happening. Apologies to all teams attending for the logistical difficulties, it was my first tournament and I certainly could've performed better when some things went wrong. Prelim stats are here: http://hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/5326/stats/prelims/ SQBS mangled all o...

Re: 2017 NSC set discussion

I read Anna Karenina, loved it, remembered the clue I buzzed on exactly, and still couldn't produce the answer you wanted. I may be an idiot (I'm sure many would agree with this point!) but I knew the peasant fumbling in the sack represented death and all of this still wasn't enough for me. Indeed t...

May I please see the stress tossup? I believe it called stress an emotion which didn't seem quite right to me.

Re: QuizBug: A Quinterest Add-On Created by Chris Winkler

Chris tells me that the code for this has been re-written and now can be played on mobile phones plus the code is all uploaded and can be accessed through a link on the site. If you're into coding perhaps you'll want to take a look at that.

Re: Earlybird @ UIUC (10/1/16)

Is there any particular reason Earlybird has been moved to being a novice tournament? Especially with IHSSBCA Novice two weeks later it seems to me as if the novice hole is mostly full. In addition, the OPRF tournament has been unable to find a good set so far so I'd think that Earlybird should stil...

Re: 2016 PACE NSC: June 4-5, Chicago

I will say that our inability to win games and make top bracket in that respect means that we should've played better and studied harder. It was obviously in our power to win games and make top bracket. However, we also won 6 games. There were multiple teams that won 5 in prelims and made top bracke...

Re: Where to obtain question sets?

Well I mean you could just go on quizbowlpackets.com if people don't know about that (which they probably don't considering they don't play) and cull science tossups from some middle school packets to give them an easier start.

Re: Illinois '14-'15

Just some thoughts on various teams in no particular order. I am going into sophomore year so forgive me for some gaps in my knowledge that a more experienced player might know. IMSA: Obviously they will be good as usual, although they appear to have a bit of a science hole. I know Pranav well enoug...
