Re: Greatest Quiz Bowl team ever?
The Jim Garrick coached Dorman teams of the early 1990s took on all comers including TJ and Maggie Walker and kept on winning.

Re: South Carolina 07-08
James Island knows only too well why they are not going to NAQT. With the attitude displayed by some of the players at tournaments and at school, they are lucky to be going anyplace. The team has the ability to be one of the top five teams in the nation, but has difficulty playing consistently at a ...

Our goal is always to be competitive in our county. We play two county rivals on Monday night and haven't played or practiced since the first weekend in December. We have been hit by a virus and some of the kids are just now getting back to school. It is over six hours to Huntsville and we are comin...

I remember playing at Savannah Country Day when some of us had played questions in a SC tournament and the vendor sent the same questions to SCD for their tournament. All I could do was smile at Hodges Lewis when Irmo solved a math problem after the first number was read. That was how I knew the que...

Matt, Wish that I could tell you more. The tournament was already in existence when I heard about it at ASCN. It was very short-lived as the sponsor had a difficult time breaking even with the prizes awarded. The tournament was held on the campus of St. Louis University. We went in either '94 or '95...

Historically this tournament is always the first weekend in December for SC teams only. Letters are mailed to SC schools in September. I think that the date was established as the first weekend in December because Brookwood attracted a number of SC schools when its tournament was held the second wee...

The questions stink and there are repeats. If the USC quiz bowl team writes them, the questions are good. There just are not enough of the quality questions for the entire tournament. I suspect that James Island, one of the Dorman teams, and the Governor's School for Math and Science will be the fav...

This tournament is much too nice for you guys -- well run, competent readers, fair questions and generally a lack of intensity that one sees around Atlanta. I am ...

My Anderson system lasted a year. But, to their credit, I shipped it back and Anderson repaired the system quickly and inexpensively. I hesitate to send my Zee Craft for repairs. JR, At least you can recruit. We have three middle schools and there is not a clean feed for any one of them. We point to our county competition. Anything after that is gravy. My team has a say in which tournaments we attend. Manchester is a small school south of Ann Arbor. Like Wilmington, Aiken also played four playoff teams.
