Re: What to Do with a nAC Invitation
I wish that I could have done any of these things to the nAC invitation my team received. After all my arguments against going to nAC, and since we didn't qualify for any other nationals, we are still going to nAC.

It was a great tournament, but for the prelim stats, why are only 4 games showing for the teams in the Marine Le Pen division and the individual stats?

Re: Neg Control
I now realize that the most important aspect of playing quizbowl is learning new information. Instead of just taking random guesses on questions, we need to make sure we have enough solid knowledge on a topic to make at least an educated guess. I think that this can be done by encouraging my teammat...

Re: Where do I get Anderson Officiator 10 Buzzers?
I don't think that there is anywhere that you can get this system for cheaper, but I was able to find an 8-player lockout buzzer system on ebay for $115 + $35 shipping. http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-players-QZ-825-Lockout-Buzzer-System-for-Quiz-Bowl-/351966451248?hash=item51f2d5d630:m:mACSkqEMt2WiA5t0ao...

I have no idea about the Cup standings, but I do know that registration is now open on the Columbia Cup website.jonpin wrote: On that note, when is Columbia planning to (a) post the Cup standings, and (b) open registration for the Spring tournament?

So instead of there being separate state championships for Metro New York and New Jersey, is the Columbia Cup Spring Championship going to be the championship for both states?

Neg Control
Looking back on our results for the Columbia Fall and Winter tournaments, I noticed that we tended to neg 2-4 times a game. I wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions for cutting down on negs or being more sure of an answer before buzzing in. http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournaments/3949/stats/a...

How to attract new members
First of all, the quizbowl team has about 10 members that come to practice on average, but about 8 of us are going to graduate within the next 2 years. I wanted to know how other teams try to recruit new members. The most common problem that we find when it comes to recruiting is that some freshmen ...

Re: Looking to start playing "Good Quizbowl"
As someone from a school that plays both QU tournaments in Westchester and pyramidal quizbowl, I can say that how fast your team improves is based on how much effort you make to improve. It took a year and a half to get my team from 0-10 to 5-5. I'm proud of our progress and know that we can do bett...

Although Cardinal Spellman originally said that we would not be able to attend, we wish to register 2 teams for Sunday's competition.
