Also, I would love to be a moderator at a tournament if I am home from Auburn.

That's where I got my inspiration. I knew the kid was lying, so it was easy to fake him out. I'm also fairly intuitive, so I really had him going. He was literally sweating. I asked him all sorts of questions and caught him in every single lie. It was hilarious. He actually thought I could tell he ...

I think Cullman will have a new coach next year (Thank God!), but you are probably still right about their chances unless the new coach makes good use of the Quiz Bowl class. And the team members must become more motivated. By the way Lee, I never thanked you for making me a better quiz bowl player....

I tried out two years ago and passed the test. I did not make it past the buzzer/interview round. I have not tried out since then because I became too old for high school jeopardy. Carter from Covenant Christian was at the same try out as I was, and he passed the test but did not make it to the show...

Cullman loses all four starters, and it seems that their under-classmen who will be moving up haven't really performed well when I've seen them. Actually, only three of our starters were seniors, but you are probably right anyway. In fact, I hope Cullman has a team next year because nobody besides ...

Cullman is not attending NAQT state because our team lacks motivation. I am willing to go to any quiz bowl tournament, no matter what the format, but the rest of my team does not like NAQT questions. If they would work harder to learn the format, I think they would enjoy playing it. What disappoints...

Congratulations to ASFA for winning state. I just wish we had been around for the finals. It seems like I have bad rounds at the most inopportune times. Against Hoover I hesitated on some of the easiest questions I have ever heard to let them beat us. We just came up short in our other chance to mak...

Sparkman finished second in the other pool at Wallace. Maybe they will extend an invitation to them. However, that still would not be enough teams. There needs to be at least two more teams.

How did our regional end up with two fewer qualifiers than last year?

Originally, two teams were supposed to advance out of each pool, but Athens and Hartselle dropped out. I guess with only nine teams in the district four regional qualifiers were too many. I wish we had played a round robin, but that must have been too many rounds to write. Arab was there. I do not k...

These are the teams that qualified from the Wallace State - Hanceville District.

Pool A

Austin High School (3-0)

Pool B

Bob Jones High School (4-0)
Cullman High School (3-1)

We lost the first match of the day to Bob Jones by 30 points, but we were able to take the over all points wildcard.

The first good team we played was Indian Springs in the quarterfinals. Our team was not ready for that round, and many of the questions in that round covered topics that I have never heard of before. Indian Springs was the better team that round. Pool 2 had some bad readers. We had the same reader f...

Gas prices haven't been an issue for us, but our school is only two miles away from the Fun Tournament. Our biggest problem is that our number 2 and 3 players are playing with our band in our city's fair parade the same day, and they never come to practice because they have to work or go to band sec...

Cullman will not be attending PACE. Two members of our team signed up for the ACT on June 11th before we got the information about PACE. We hope to attend next year.
