Re: Boundaries and Being Off-topic on the Discord
I'm in full support of limiting off-topic channels to adults. On a related note, is there any plan to increase the number of moderators/level of moderation in the Discord?

Re: 2021 AQBL ONCT - June 26-27
The vast majority of issues with ONCT, as far as I can tell, were not new problems brought on by having an online national tournament. The issues were general tournament directing mistakes that have been done before, discussed, and better logistical practices are now standard. I don’t fault the Teen...

Re: NAQT, Outreach, and Social Media
NAQT should have better social media “game”—more reactive tweeting when people tweet about quiz bowl, more emphasis on human-interest stories, more interviews, more things accessible to people not in quizbowl (family members, etc.), rather than an emphasis on statistics. On a typical day, we find 2...

Re: Quizbowl Microaggressions
Don't laugh when someone negs, unless it's very clear to you that they are also laughing and poking fun at themselves. At my first ever tournament, players on the opposing team laughed at one of my negs and it was extremely discouraging. This goes for moderators too: I can very vividly recall a mode...

Re: Activities Outside of Quiz Bowl
I've swam competitively since I was five, swam varsity all four years of high school (yuck), and played the violin for nine years before I quit last year. I joined basically all of the science clubs at my school, which would include Chem Club (I am the current secretary), Science Olympiad (we're not...

Re: Coach issues
Although we have transitioned to using pyramidal questions in practice, our school’s main focus remains in our local non-pyramidal league. We are extremely fortunate to have a strong, local pyramidal circuit, a financial situation that allows for us to pay for tournament fees ourselves, and supporti...
