ATTN: EASTERN KY TEAMS!!! -Also, if any teams would like to scrimmage and would like a washed up college grad who is having quiz bowl withdrawals to play against just let me know. I know I'd love to see myself and some coaches go against the new generation of EKY quizbowlers. Anyway, just an idea I...

So, Eastern KY Univ?? That sounds about as good a location as any, given those limits.jrbarry wrote:east of I-65 and south of I-64 and with I-75 as the eastern limit. I am still working on it. Should know for sure by Oct 1.

Kentuckians: there is a blip in The Force! I am in Kentucky today and tomorrow looking at prospective camp venues for 2009. I can tell you know, there will be an ACE camp in Kentucky next July, sometime between July 19-25. That's excellent news. Is this a co-op with the KAAC camp or are they indepe...

International Teams
I'm moving to Chile for a few years starting in February. While there I plan to study and perhaps represent my school in quiz bowl play. My main question is to anyone who knows anything about international quizbowl. I know that there are teams in Canada and I think that the British have similar comp...

Re: Kentucky 08-09
Why with math? Good quizbowl doesn't include that anymore. Most quiz bowl does contain math, mostly theory/history as opposed to computational. However, KY Governor's Cup does incorporate computation, and that tournament still seems to be the most important tournament for various reasons for most s...

I'm probably one of the first from Pikeville to post on this site, but I think we have a pretty good team this year. We came within 2 or 3 points of JCHS at region, though they beat us by 13ish the next match. We've got a fairly young team because of the exodus of players that were in the senior cl...

FCPanther: Having coaches choose brings in a lot of bias. Coaches always want to see their players rise above the rest. I don't know how they would go about it, but I think a tryout would be best. I'm not convinced that the Ashland sponsorship of the events affect the format that much. I mean, I doubt there are too many people that work for Ashland who know the ins and outs of the game. We need to improve quizbowl's image by writing an article about that one time Leo Wolpert put up 170 PPG while snorting lines of coke off of Judd Nelson's ass and receiving fellatio from Thai prostitutes of unknown age and gender. We usually meet up three times a week (MWF) from about 3-5 P.M. The types of questions we use varies from time to time.
