Note that there has been a change. This year instead of doing the Cavalier Classic as a house written set, we will be using HSAPQ
ACF Set #2. This is a different set than what is being used at UMD. To register please email me at wab2m@virginia.edu

Re: VCU Open Discussion

Another point in favor of CS's accessibility-- most terms in CS have names in English that relate to what they actually are. A "linked list" is exactly what it sounds like-- a list with links between the component objects. A "compiler" compiles code so it's processable in machine language. "QuickSo...

As a computer science major(actually a major of fake computer science, but close enough), my problems with the CS questions wasn't so much the answer selection of the CS tossups, but the tossups themselves. Take that linked-list tossup for example. As was pointed out, within a few words, anybody wit...

Re: VCU Open Discussion

I agree that thixotropy, while an interesting topic, is far too obscure to include as a tossup selection. I felt like the only really good uniquely-identifying clue in the question was "opposite of rheopectic." It would, however make a good bonus part (as it did at FICHTE). Personally I didn't thin...

While in the past we have done a swap with Vanderbilt, so far this year nobody has proposed to do that. However, if Vanderbilt would like to do a swap, it probably be in UVA's best interest to do it.

Well, minoring and majoring practices differ from school to school. At UVA, you aren't allowed to do a double minor, but you can major as many times as you like, theoretically.
