Scott, Please don't take the comments from "lewiscomvp" as a reflection of the opinions of the FCHS team. He/she does not speak for me or the kids on my team. We truly do look forward to our matchup and feel it should be a very good game. From looking over the district and region scores for the last...

Thanks Mephisto! Do you know about Rowan or Boone? Rowan is a solid team. They've got four guys that can all score in their areas. We (Fleming) played them twice before Gov. Cup and beat them both times (12 points and 18 points), but for whatever reason, we just didn't get it done in the region. Th...

First Fleming did not claim the questions were Governor's Cup; the tournament was Governor's Cup format. The questions came from Question Well, and were more quick recall than quiz bowl (no pyramids). Second, I agree that some of them were in your words a bit "wacky". The Science in particular was t...

I'd had the same thought about ppg from district through state, and realized the same problem...a deeper team could be detrimental if it's all based simply on scoring. I agree with some type of tryout program...what I would propose is that coaches get together at regional GC and "nominate" 4 (just a random number I pulled from a hat, could be more or less)players to go to a tryout held at the same time as state GC. Those players could then go through some type of ...
