Re: All videos of Quiz Bowl

No list of quizbowl or quizbowl-related videos would be complete without Chris Ray vs. Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering Whenever I try to watch this the videos keep randomly switching to double-speed about halfway in. Every time that one Ira dude starts to say "Rob Zombie" I can't watch the rest...

The sub-distribution of philosophy of the tossups heard in rounds (there were a few tiebreakers) was: modern: 17 middle: 14 old/ancient: 10 concepts: 8 where "old/ancient" covers everything between pre-Socratics and Scholasticism, "middle" is Enlightenment and the German Idealists until more or less...

Re: RMPFest Discussion

For what it's worth, Enchiridion was in the finals packet that was deliberately meant to be pretty damn hard. I was also under the impression that it was the most quizbowl-famous Epictetus work, but I guess I could be wrong about that.

Re: (11/15/2008) RMP Fest at UIUC

I'm told that a team of Mike Sorice and Seth Teitler won the UIUC mirror. No word from UMD yet. We kept stats, so I'll eventually get those posted, but for now I'll just add this info: the winning team was Seth Teitler/Mike Sorice/Andrew Ullsperger. We played a double-round robin on all 10 packets,...

EDIT: In regards to "too many clues" in the bonus parts, ACF Fall is intended to serve as an introduction to collegiate quizbowl of the non-NAQT/HCASC/CBI variety. The more clues teams and players hear, the more they learn, and hopefully because they learn, they will improve/enjoy quizbowl far more...

Just out of curiosity, why are people so obsessed with packet security? This is back farther up, but I think it's worth addressing. Yeah, Missouri debate is really healthy. Thoughts on the Chicago Open trash tournament?
