Re: Xanatos

Anyone who got the Xanatos tossup is a hero. Next to beating Gonzaga, that question was the single awesomest moment of my day. Gargoyles was my favorite animated show in elementary school, even more so than Invader Zim (*points to avatar/username*). Late 90s/early 2000's animation is so underrepres...

We have had a few flashes of brilliance Sarah may be correct that the national champion will not be from the region this year, but I would not want to bet against the region either. TJ, Whitman, and RM all have a legitimate shot. They have been most impressive every time I have seen them. And if yo...

6. Gov - I've seen them play only once; they seemed decent but nothing more. This year maybe its rebuilding year, but the sophomore class is really good . . . Conclusion: Overall, with the exception of Whitman and TJ, the competitiveness of the region has declined. With teams like Dorman, EP, Stuyv...

I don't know what 5 and 6 were, but Maggie Walker A was 7 and B was 8. I found the card system interesting, but the bonus fluctuation was maddening. It was a well-run tournament, though, and playing a seven-round prelim was definitely much better than the Swiss Pairing system.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I don't want the message to be "You're bad so come play in our tournament." It should be a more positive message like "If you are a team that is looking to gain valuable experience, come play in our tournament against teams at a similar level of of development, ...

Yeah generally I never like sending the message "hey if you're a bad team, come play in this tournament/division," so I don't like the idea of a comparative analysis of teams that try to register to determine whether they're in. I like Charlie's idea except that I would maybe specifically say those...

That's were things become complicated, because last year we had a freshman who probably would not be eligible for this and this year about half of our sophomores wouldn't be... We'll come up with a qualification system soon, hopefully.

They should be eligible. We don't have a set standard just yet, but if they're all newer players they should qualify on whatever system we go with. I also see no problem with allowing middle school players, but Cameron should probably have the final say on that. Usually he reads this forum fairly re...

Maggie Walker made it home safely and had an awesome time. One suggestion I would make though, would be to work on your distribution a bit and also to try to eliminate repeats where possible. Okay, so that's two suggestions. But you may find them helpful, as your program is still pretty new. The tou...

*shameless plug* GSAC is house-written and follows NAQT distribution fairly closely. We definitely aren't skewed in any direction. But a lot of housewritten tournaments are. That's just how it goes.

MLWGS would probably be interested in attending; Dr. Barnes announced that the team itself will be more active in choosing which tournaments we go to. We've gone to overnights before, so it probably wouldn't be too much of a problem. And I'm sure Quint probably misses you.
