Re: ACF Regionals Discussion Thread

Back on topic, I wasn't a big fan of name dropping "Victory Over the Sun" in the Suprematism tossup and then having it not be on Futurism. I did, in fact, neg on this with Futurism. A stupid mistake, but still. I also negged this, but I'm not really convinced there was anything wrong with the quest...

Yeah, it's definitely possible. I went with the 18th because I was completely unaware of when trashionals was and figured that avoiding Easter is a good idea. I'll look into changing the dates, and other teams that have a preference either way should let me know.

From Edith Hamilton's mythology:

"[Theseus] was one of the men who sailed on the Argo to find the Golden Fleece. He took part in the great Calydonian Hunt..."

So they're not completely wrong, but they're not good clues either, since they can apply to so many people.

Like, off the top of my head, I can recall tossups on Crassus, Marcus Aurelius, Domitian, Mark Antony, Augustus and Hadrian. Which made up 6 tossups in the eleven rounds I played. For what it's worth, this means that the seven rounds that you didn't play contained zero Roman history tossups (unless...

I read at the Florida site, and most everything I saw was excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the packets at some point. The Bork tossup was a personal favorite.
