Re: ACE Camp

Wow,
Those classes sound interesting.
Early literature is one of my weaknesses, so after those two classes I should be in good shape.
Still looking forward to it!

Re: ACE Camp

Does anybody know what courses will be taught this year?
I'm looking forward to going to Milligan this summer!
Believe it or not we might actually have around 10 campers this year, instead of our traditional 2.

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
There were two different test, one multiple choice, one a QR set with no answers.
Dunbar did not compete in the second test.

Although the questions were overly easy, I still enjoyed myself. *QR 1st: Manual 2nd: Johnson 3rd: Eastern Danville 5th: Grayson Pikeville Dunbar Trinity *Team Test 1st: Adair 2nd: Pikeville Individual Test *Victor Macrinici It's unfortunate that ...

Re: Kentucky NAQT

We didn't play them, but I think they had a pretty good day. However, they got a hard draw (I think Dunbar) and were knocked out in the round of 16. It was a very fun tournament. Even though me missed national qualification by 35 points, I still had a good time. I'd like to congratulate Dunbar and M...

Re: Kentucky NAQT

Does anyone know who all of these teams have already qualified for nationals? I think it's SK, MVNH, Manual, and Russel. Is this right? It will definitely be a battle for that guaranteed spot. Henry Clay has a very good chance at getting it. However, some other teams (Campbell, Ballard, Manual B, Da...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Several upsets are really possible. Definitely not a dark horse, but I think MVNH may do even better than expected, maybe top four. I can also see Adair or Campbell (if they can get to the 2nd day) placing quite high. I see some potential for our pool as well, probably not a top 4, but a quarterfina...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

I am sure John Bennett can, seeing that he is the director.
I know that they hire individual writers for their work.
Not sure how you could get them to change formats though.
Is that what you were thinking?

Re: Ideal Middle School Distribution?

When I was in middle school QB plenty of normal lit. was asked. Some of the questions ex.(Asking for Little Men sequel as give away, Jo's Boys) were actually quite difficult. I personal loved it, but maybe that was because I, having gone to ace, had an advantage. I really don't see any problem with ...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Practice rounds sound great! Does anyone have any ideas about when or where to have them? I guess we could use some old questions "?" Are any more teams interested? I am very excited to see who will win some of these first rounds! Dunbar vs. Simon Kenton JC vs. Cambell Ours (Flemming and Gray...

Thank you for clearing that up. Both of our teams have been on the rise for the past few years. Re: Kentucky 08-09

I would appreciate it if you "LewisCounty" quit bashing our team.
I am glad our actual opponents, Flemming, are much more pleasant than you.

I am looking forward to state.
There are plenty of good first round match ups, and it looks like it will be a fun weekend.

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Hopefully so, Next year we are planning to go to Dunbar, Vandy, and maybe Nationals. We are also thinking about hosting an NAQT tourney to get some more local teams involved. We are taking several students to ace, so hopefully this will help us become even more competitive at a state/possibly nation...

That sounds like a great idea.
The more practice the better!
Why would someone object to playing one of the greatest teams in the nation?

Would they be eligible for awards or not?

Re: Dunbar High School Tournament, March 7, 2009

I think it is going to be a very competitive tournament. In the history of our team I don't we have (aside from a few isolated matches with local schools: MNH, Edmonson, Marshall, and Davies) ever played against extremely competitive teams. I am looking forward to exposing ourselves to a tournament ...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

I believe that in our region (3): Quick recall is pretty much a tossup. The front-runners are Grayson, Edmonson, Davies and Owensborow. However Henderson could easily grab a top 4 spot. Just for reference: -Grayson has, *Beaten Davies by around 15, but also lost by about this amount. *Beaten Henders...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

JV was kind of fun. I thought the LA test was very easy though. Adair beat us by two points in the final match, sadly we might have won if it wasn't for my incompetence of buzzing in and saying La Boheme on Les Miserables. However they were a well balanced team and were fun to play against. There is...

Will the fine arts class cover new meterial from what was covered in fine-arts II last year?
Or would it be similar and, therefore, more benificial to take a new class like philosophy or shakespeare?
