Re: Maryland Fall Tournament (9/26/09)

Having played the same set at UTC, I would say that it was poorly edited. There were more than a few repeats, factually inaccuracies, and wildly fluctuating bonuses. Also, it might just be that the last tournament I played was NAQT, but did the set have a lot of literature (as in, more than 4/4)? W...

Edith Hamilton's Mythology and Ovid's Metamorphoses . Most of you have heard of these, but for those who haven't, they both contain a detailed summary of Greco-Roman mythology. If you read them carefully, you'll get almost every Greek myth question within three lines. This has helped me with more m...

Good prediction, Zhao. Is Southside losing anyone? If so, whom? Our A is losing Phong, however our top two scorers are still there. The captain of our B team is moving up to A and the rest of our B will still play with the addition of another junior. Thus making next year's A all seniors and B, 3 j...

I don't know if I should be excited or disappointed about the new format. I really liked the 3-phase format since it added a bit of "variety" to the standard quiz bowl format, however this new choice will make it simpler to write questions and prevent repetitions. So that allows for cleaner play As ...
