Re: For the sake of a topic...

Guy's supporting cast knows stuff... at least when we played them late in the HFT, they were getting some good buzzes, or what should have been, anyway. I recall two very unfortunate negs in our first match. I wouldn't be surprised if Hunter continues to be a threat after guy, particularly when all ...

If you were running even match, I would set the "best" 3-1 team against Gonzaga, as long as the two hadn't played before. If they had, go down the line. That's my two cents anyway

Re: Illinois '08-'09

Most teams just go with a straight out horizontal hand thrust, that I've seen, but a few (Shady Side, or am I misremembering?) go straight up vertical, statue of liberty sort of thing. I could see how the vertical would make it much more obvious to the rest of the team, but personally, my arm would ...

Regarding State College: Ruilong, Ben, and David, all A-teamers, were not there. So our "#1" team was me and three players usually from our B team. The B team itself was an assortment of kids who had been to a tournament or two, but aren't on our traditional A team/B team. EDIT Ooh, haha, beat me to...

Yeah, State College is listed as having played James Monroe twice, I can assure you that didn't happen. I'm not sure how half packets work in determining games played, but it seems like that might affect stats.

Re: GSAC XVI: December 6, 2008

The one complaint I had with QuAC bracketing was the we (State College) never got to play you (Maggie Walker). It's not a huge deal, but taking third when we only ever lost to the first place team was a little aggravating. Plus, I really wanna play you guys :D

I'd just like to say that as liberal arts player who zones out during science questions, the playoffs and particularly the final round were all great fun, and generally not so difficult as to ruin the game: as long as reasonable competition is possible, I don't think teams should obsess too much abo...

Re: Kentucky 08-09

Well, I don't happen to know much about the rest of Kentucky, but Dunbar was in our play-off bracket at TJ. They seemed pretty good, lost to Gonzaga by 5 points on a protest, and slaughtered our B team. I'm not sure about the strength of the field in Kentucky, but I would hesitate a guess that Dunba...

Ah, the Princeton Tournament. That was just a bad game. There were perhaps eight or nine buzzer races during the round, and a number...

I'd say as a team we have a lot of potential, and some up-and-coming players, but the loss of Laura Gabrovsek has left some chinks in our knowledge. If those can be rectified, I'd say we could put together a fairly successful season. Also, April 4th, SC will be having a NAQT tournament, in case some...
