Re: ACF Winter Southeast at UGA (1/16)

This is false. Mixed teams are not allowed to play Winter. This includes teams comprised of high school students who attend different high schools. There are no exceptions. Sorry, Cathy. My teammates and I spoke about the possibility today until we saw this post. It's a shame your player couldn't h...

Re: ACF Winter Southeast at UGA (1/16)

I believe Southside will be bringing two buzzer systems. I apologize if this was not previously indicated in our registration.

Also, since we're going without school recognition, we'll have to register by some other name. I'll get back to you on what specifically we'll be calling ourselves.

Never mind this. With Andy Watkins's permission, we're moving our mirror to 2/13. Shorter's tournament (NAQT IS) is still on 2/27.

Feel free to contact me at quizbowl@umn.edu if you'd like to host a mirror of MUT. We'd particularly like to see mirrors in: Illinois/Missouri Northeast Kentucky/Tennessee South Carolina/Georgia (there is a possibility that we could work something out for 2/27, as this would enable people from the ...

The QUEST tournament at Trident Technical College is being held the same day. All of the teams from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester County will be at the tournament, as it is the biggest tournament in the year for us. It would be good to move the date. Why would they go to that tournament inst...

On behalf of the Clemson University Quizbowl Team, I am pleased to announce that this year’s Weekend of Quizbowl will be occuring this spring on March 6th and 7th, 2010 at our beautiful campus in Clemson, South Carolina. This deeply saddens me. I won't personally be able to attend on Saturday becau...

Re: Weekend of Quizbowl at Clemson?

3/6 would probably be best. Norcross is mirroring Prison Bowl on that date in Georgia. If you want this to be a real national event, you have to convince teams like Gov and GDS to make the trip, and a one-day event just isn't worth it. T-Party would be an interesting experiment for an elite field. ...

I may be mis-remembering something though. This information is accurate. Southside A was composed of Ming Lin and ...

Who won the tournament? Dorman B won the tournament, beating Southside B 330-260 in the finals of a single elimination bracket. Dorman A and Southside A took 3rd and 4th, respectively, and those four teams qualified for HSNCT. Stats are on NAQT's website: http://naqt.com/stats/tournament-teams.jsp?...

You might want to move the date of that tournament, since the University of South Carolina is doing their tournament on the same day, and that will draw most of the teams in the state of SC, as it is always held on the first weekend of December. If you had a different date, you could get a lot of t...

Re: PACE NSC: format changes, 2010 information

If there was more post-nationals competiton, it would almost make sense to have NSC in early-or-mid may, since that's before most end-of-the-year disruptions. The other option, like Andrew said, would be a late(say, tail end of June) tournament, but that's going to cause problems for people going a...
