I think this also calls to attention the fact that people have not written their questions. If you have questions claimed on the document, for the love of (insert deity here), please write them.

Re: What do you do about bad readers at tournaments?

I certainly think one thing we could do is have a training session for teachers who will be reading at tournaments who don't have previous quiz bowl experience (I certainly would like to do this for Kirksville's tournament in February). And yet this is surprisingly ineffective. There must be multip...

Re: Books "for Quizbowl"

The Rest is Noise by Alex Ross is a very good summary of 20th Century Classical music. Second that. Even though the more modern stuff doesn't come up too often in quizbowl, the sections on Strauss, Mahler, and the Second Viennese School are great. Very readable too. Thirded. I've only read the chap...

I'd certainly be willing to help contribute to this. Is Kirksville High School registered for this? I just talked to Coach Odzinski, and he said they weren't registered for this tournament. Or is this a different Kirksville High School?

EDIT: They weren't at this tournament.

100 Decisive Battles is also good. I'll use that if I write any questions about battles.

I'd say any works by Nietzche (The Antichrist, Beyond Good and Evil, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, etc.) and probably some stuff by Spinoza.

Also A People's History of the United States would be good (it's gotten me US History points), and in the same vein A Patriot's History of the United States.
