Re: 2015 HSNCT discussion

On a quick look over the packets, a lot of tossups seem to have huge answerlines. During one match, I was negged for saying "analogous structures" for the "convergent evolution" tossup even though I was correct. My answer was an alternate answer and the moderator didnt see it. Re: 2015 NHBB/USGO Discussion Thread

Losing two points for a questions seems a bit harsh, in my opinion to make it more reasonable you could a) Make penalties in the bee (anywhere in the question) one point instead of two or b) Make superpowers 3, powers 2, end of questions 1, and negs (anywhere in the question) -1. My reasoning behind...

Why is there no penalty for a third incorrect buzz once a question is over, while there is one if the question has not been finished? Doesn't this encourage buzzer races at the end of the question after two negs? It's traditional in quizbowl to not penalize wild guesses at the end of tossups. The b...

You could also consider just making the prize a free regional bee registration only given to the top 10 individuals or so and keep the olympiad discount for the lesser prizes. This way it's nowhere near as much a financial problem as bowl registration, and assuming 20 total students (from both the V...
