I believe that Oak Park-River Forest's coach said that her team this year (at least the one they had at sectionals) was all juniors. If they go to more tournaments next year (I saw them at Kickoff and Wheaton North, dunno where else they went) they could be very good. Check that, they already are ve...

But if they didn't have timed matches theyd either have to have less rounds or things would get all messed up because some rooms would finish before others or such, or both. Also, I will be the first to stick up for trash in packets, but I could see how people think there is too much. I think 1/1 is...

Recently I briefly entertained the notion of taking some sort of road trip to Ohio to play in the HSCS because it sounded really fun. I was just looking at the schedule for next year, and a few things I noticed: Why is the UIUC Earlybird a week later than last year? More importantly, why is it over Columbus Day weekend, a time that many families might choose to have a "weekend getaway" or whatnot. Was it just a conflict the team h...

In the first 3-5 rounds, there is no break, there is just enough time to get to your match room pretty much.

I can't remember what 6 and 7 were like, but there was about a 20 minute break between the last 2 or 3 rounds.

Is it possible to think about a bonus as just an expansion of a tossup? Perhaps a tossup on Steinbeck would mention that he wrote Cannery Row, Travels with Charley, and Of Mice and Men; a bonus question could go into depth on all three texts, instead of just mentioning them in passing. I know that w...

The only reason I could see (understand not condone) is if it is something like the 4 people with the most tossups at practice will play on the A team at the next tournament.
