Re: Minnesota Undergraduate Tournament (MUT) 2015 Announceme

Considering that most of the teams that would have gone went to the Waterloo mirror, I doubt it.

These might have been true for the Bowl, but, in my opinion, there were many, many problems with at least the first three rounds of the Bee.

Re: Quizbowl in Foreign Languages?

This is exactly what we will certainly organize soon; I guess with a start in 2017 or so. I can certainly translate questions into German, as well as my wife for French. We can then also find some people around the world in for other foreign languages. And I just found a great trophy shop here in V...

Will the credit be transferable between students? That is, if a team of four got third in its evening group, could all the credit be used to decrease a single student's cost by $800?

Everything about Science Bowl is ridiculous and terrible. Act according to the dictates of your conscience, but if anyone tells you specifically to do things differently, follow. I recall having moderators say the answers to dead questions.

If I recall correctly, the bonus part on Waterloo in round six said that Marius Pontmercy's father died there, which isn't correct.

Bethlehem Central : Eric Wolfsberg I would disagree with this assessment. While I clearly do get the tossups of anyone on my team by a large margin, both Ben and Will do get significant numbers of points also- they have averaged 25 and 30 PPG respectively, hardly buzzer rocks- and are of much use o...

Some videos from Masterminds, a quizbowl league in Upstate New York, can be found here , under the "Masterminds" playlist. While the number of sound effects is probably excessive and the quality of both the readers and the contestants is questionable, these are actually on Good questions, unlike mos...

This is at best somewhat related, but in one case where I found myself tired during a tournament (as a result of going to sleep at 10 and getting up at 5), splashing water on my face had a positive effect on my performance.

It would appear that there is already a DEES mirror in Missouri , so I don't think that that would be the best idea. However, a brief search reveals no ICCS Mirror in your immediate area, though I do not know if it would be frowned upon to have a mirror in December, considering many sites have alrea...

-$15/100 mi. distance discount

-Minimum fee of $60 per team
Is it intentional that a single distance discount brings the price lower than the minimum?
