Bergen

Seton Hall Prep is also planning to attend Gonzaga. (As well as DACQ if we can.) What about packets from last season or regionals? I agree that A-packets will mostly be buzzer races but how many of the top fifty are you hoping to attract? As there are VERY few NAQT events in New Jersey this year (Ru...

Results from S.K.I.T. (Rutgers)

With some of the NY/NJ teams (only 18) meeting for the first time this season, it looks as though it will be a competitive year. Bergen County, at 9-1, won the tournament. They posted a 4-1 record in the prelims, losing only to Kellenberg, then went 5-0 in the playoff round robin to win the tourname...

NJ 2007-2008

Next year, Columbia should be one of the better teams in the state. With the loss of Meryl (Jeopardy champ) I am not sure about the status of Livingston. Pingry always manages to field a good team - as does Bergen County. High tech is always dangerous but tends to be "streaky". It will be ...

Who is representing New Jersey? Many of the top teams in the state chose to boycott the State Championship because it was rescheduled for the same day as a local tournament. I was just wondering.

Repeats.

In Washington, Seton Hall took the Martin Luther King 60-second round. It was virtually identical to one we heard last year. I imagine that it was the same as the one was heard in the "second quarterfinal match" in Orlando.

Seton Hall Prep

Dr. Chuck,

It was great to finally meet the man behind the moniker in DC last weekend! As I said to both you and David, SHP would love to attend next year. We would prefer the June 14-15 weekend as we will be graduating the first weekend in June.

How did the teams do today? Overall, based upon the results from both San Antonio and WDC, the averages seem "down" from last year. I expect Wilmington to run away with this ... unless their opponent earns 60 points in a visual bonus for identifying weasels! (Actual question from DC semifi...

NY/NJ 2007/2008

I imagine that STUY will be strong once again. I stand by my earlier post that Kellenberg will be strong next year as well. Columbia (NJ) will only get stronger as their best scorer was a sophomore. SHP will be back returning the entire team from this year. Pingry will find a way (they always do!). ...

The final-four were Torrey Pines v. South Brunswick and Harrison v. Seton Hall Prep. Torrey Pines eked a one-question win over South Brunswick while Harrison dominated Seton Hall. Next year(s)

I think that any discussion of next year and beyond must include Kellenberg. I have seen them play and even read for them several times this year. Considering that their team is comprised of 8th-10th graders, I think that they will be worth watching for at least the next three years. (In addition .....

Seton Hall Prep will be at E.O. Smith this weekend. At last weekend's Millburn tournament, I told Chatham that we would not be able to attend because of our previous commitment. Should the question set be changed to IS 64, we certainly would come on May 19th.

We (Seton Hall Prep - NJ) usually attend twelve to fifteen tournaments per year. However, in order to do so, we need to go on the road. Aside from Princeton, most local tournaments only have one or two other "national" caliber teams. (Millburn, NJ is a frequent foe of ours in the finals) W...
