Concur with Ankit. The last few years have felt as though you could've replayed the final stages of the tournament ten times and had five or six different champions. I'll be interested to see how an increased difficulty on the playoff rounds plays.

Apologies. I misspoke. I meant that my theory was that the difficulty of regionals approximated the difficulty of an A set. I didn't mean to imply the writing team modeled their product on NAQT's, rather, I was using a commonly understood metric.
