I played Chip questions in high school, and it is patently ridiculous to suggest that a top team from the PACE NSC or NAQT HSNCT would do poorly on his questions. I gotta ask- why were there 10 people on the Tulsa team? was it that people just showed up at varying times of the day or were 10 people there the entire time? If I had to guess, I'd say that since they were hosting, they probably had all the staffers rotate in and out so they could each play a few...

Despite the late start to the UF-Vandy football game on Saturday night, I can confirm that I will be showing up to staff this on Sunday. I can also bring my own laptop if you plan on running a paperless tournament.

It wasn't a full circuit, but I definitely played in a couple of tournaments intended for "JV" (= frosh/soph) teams in high school. The only one I can remember by name is the Cookeville Cavalier JV Wonder Bowl.

From everything I've seen, people who do research in biology, chemistry, physics, and astrophysics often wind up doing a decent amount of programming and get exposed to some CS concepts that way.

I take great offense to things like Hausdorff spaces and integrals being labeled as "trivia". Call it "math theory" if you want a name. Also, as no high school I've ever seen offers courses in point-set topology, Hausdorff is not a good answer selection for a high school tourname...
