First off, if any moderators are reading this, can I change my handle to something more descriptive like "ChathamNJ"? I seem to be able to edit everything else, but my current name no longer seems appropriate. If Kellenberg is the only nearby school who has heard IS-64, I will wait to see ...

Thanks for the info about the Delaware tournament - I did not know that, and will look into the possibility of switching back to IS-64. As for the issue of different teams from the same school attending different tournaments, I will plead trust and newbie-ism to the activity. More specifically, if S...

I suppose power matching would achieve the same goal, but that's not something I'm willing to try in our first-ever tournament. We'd like to keep things running as smoothly as possible, which in this case means predetermined brackets (almost certainly round-robin divisions). I am aware that Seton Ha...

Another comment - the playoff structure is actually based on the New Jersey Ice Hockey tournament. NJ has an elite conference of super-duper schools that recruit the best talent and play each other all season long. Because the superior strength of schedule often results in losing records, the state ...

Yes, the idea is similar to Patriot Games though in this case, it was born in a casual conversation at a local tournament, something to the tune of "wouldn't it be nice if Livingston A, Pingry A, Seton Hall A, Stuyvesant A, Millburn A, etc. beat each other up and we could have a greater number ...

Any school that elects to do so may place one team in the Premier Division. The goal is to reduce the number of times that Intensity A plays Podunk C. Those games are no good for anyone.

Chatham Academic Tournament (5/19/07) at Chatham, NJ

The Chatham HS Academic Team will host an NAQT tournament on May 19, one week before HSNCT. We will feature three divisions of prelim play: a Premier division for elite teams (all teams advance to playoffs), a Main division for the masses (top teams advance to the same playoffs), and a Freshman divi...

I'm a new guy here, have been lurking for a while. Coach in NJ, not very active, just curious about those who are intense about this activity so I read these discussions now and again. FWIW, I thought the original post was hilarious. Here's a dude who took a satirical swipe at the economics he's lea...
