A Good Cause: 2008 Race for Hope
Posted with Fred's Permission: -- For those of you who have recently have gotten to know me, you wouldn't know that I underwent treatment for a brain tumor in 2004. Every year since treatment, I (along with various friends) have participated in the Race for Hope , a race sponsored by the Brain Tumor...

Re: MCMNT 2008 Discussion
It's probably just me (and a bit of this is intensified by having read for DIIers at a HS tournament), but what was up with all the Mike Sorice meta? To me, Once or Twice is fine... More is a bit much. Is there a cult I don't know about (and is it a cargo cult? ) A little more seriously... Ho...

Re: MCMNT 2008 Discussion
I agree with much of what's been said; the 16th-century Italian composers bonus wasn't too hard in general, I thought, but for a novice tournament...perhaps. We had some serious complaints from our sports player, who answered "Royal Rumble" for Battle Royale and was very upset about it. I...

Re: ANNOUNCEMENT: ICT Warmup @ Maryland - 4/5/08
You would have better luck in terms of traffic going in and out of BWI, as we did for TIT. Of course, you'd need to rent a car, but the flights to BWI are quite cheap on AirTran. If you have any questions about car rental and travel in and out of BWI I can email you with the details of what we did....

Re: South Carolina 07-08
Locally in the Charleston area, the big QUEST competition at Trident Technical College is coming up March 8. The tournament involves almost every middle and high school in a three-county area, and goes by subject area. I am in the sophomore Social Studies area, and you have to take a subject area t...

Thanks to Penn and Matt for putting on a well-run tournament, although I will say that having a tournament where you need card access to enter should be avoided in the future if it's possible (I don't know if there was another place the tournament could have been held). Perhaps this is showing my f...

There are some inaccuracies in the stats - for instance, against Maryland B, I was 10/0 and Hannah was 4/0, and not vice-versa. My papers with the accurate stats for us are in my car right now, but I can send you corrections later if you'd like to fix the stats. I'm sure other people have other cor...

I've heard that the Police weren't quite so good live... I'm wondering if Sting's voice range has gotten lower over the years... "Put out your red light" in that Grammy performance is certainly lower than on album. They've also been known to change things around in live performances too, t...
