I buzzed in with "Babylonia" and protested, but it ended up not mattering. I guess we were just wrong... If you were thinking of the Ishtar Gate, then there are no lamassu on that. I think that the giant doorway statues of man-bulls(assuming that that is what the question is talking about...

Why are buzzer races precived more often than they occur? I think it would be quite useful to be able to gauge how many precived buzzer races are actually buzzer races when evaluating sets. It's my experience that people sometimes reflexively press the buzzer when they see someone else make a move ...

They do. They have one player who is pretty good. He beat down our C team 500 to something. I haven't played him, but he was making some good buzzes on the A set when I coached at Baby Anteater. Perhaps my teammates could elaborate.

I am actively lobbying for teams to come to this event! Looking at the stats from Prison Bowl, it seems to be a very accessible set. This means that less experience teams will still know the tossup answers and the first part of bonuses while experienced teams will be challenged by lead ins and third...

The set was not as disappointing as I thought it would be (amazingly, I expected less than 3 art questions and 3 music questions). There were very questionable answer choices that reaffirms my belief that A sets are not easier than IS sets.

I believe IS sets are worse than IS A sets. IS sets, in my experience with IS 79, have more cutesy giveaways and tossups on things that are way too hard or really trivial. Anurag thought that IS 78 A was better than IS 79.

The reason our "league" commissioner gave me for not changing the terrible questions into something more acceptable was "Academic League is Academic League. If we changed the questions, it would no longer be Academic League"
