There were other examples of unpyramidalness. The only one I remember off the top of my head started something like: This chief god of Babylonian mythology did blah blah... Great job running this tournament Matt. There were very few delays and the 14 rounds were finished quickly. Matt read and did stats and directed the tournament and did a great job while never leaving his chair. I had a great time and played some great games, especially with the people from Maryland....

I'm glad you got these up fairly quickly, but there seem to be some errors with points per bonus. Bonus heard isn't equaling 10s+15s for a lot of the teams, which is throwing off points per bonus heard.

Grosse Point North was definately good, they did beat us and Richard Montgomery. However, they lost to Lafayette, Bentley, and Brookwood, who all went 6-4 the first day.

I do think Michigan is strong this year, much stronger than last year, and I look forward to playing them at Nationals.

State College and TJ are probably just as good as they were last year, RM is weaker but still strong, Gonzaga is stronger, Maggie Walker graduated only one. If you want to count Dorman as East Coast they're truly strong. Stuyvesant, Wilmington Charter, and Raleigh Charter are all good. I think this ...

While we're critiquing VHSL format.

What is the purpose of the full repeat after each neg. Repeating information that both teams have already heard seems like a waste of time.

Dorman was definitely solid as they had the highest PPG of the prelims. I believe they lost to State College in the semis then Chattahoochee in the third place game.

While I also thought the questions were better than last year's, I did see some problems. For example, one of the questions I got in our semifinal match against State College was almost an exact repeat of an NAQT questions we had practiced on the week before.

I think Gonzaga and RM are also going to be strong. Also watch out for MLK Magnet and Mounds... both had strong performances at NAQT. I'm not sure how many graduated, but DuPont Manual and Santa Monica were also impressive.

I think Evan Silberman of TJ has a great shot at the neg award. If he gets on a roll the negs start flying. I don't know his name but there's someone on Walter Johnson who has maybe 3 or 4 negs a game. Then there's you (Chris Ray I think) If you get that many questions, you have to neg alot.
