Re: Texas '08-'09
Why on earth would that be public knowledge? Message boards are public forums? Pulak posting that link is the first I've seen of why they disappeared from the field list, and I don't see why you'd assume a poster in this forum would have an encyclopedic knowledge of the message board's contents. I'...

Re: Texas '08-'09
I'm referring to Rodney. North Myrtle Beach was not at HSNCT, so I don't know why we are talking about them. All I know is that they were on the field list and then they were removed. If you have information on them, that would probably make a more useful post then what you've offered. What more do...

Re: Texas '08-'09
In any case, the idea that "you can not play a single tournament and send in a wildcard bid to naqt" and it will be accepted" is misleading. Sure, they may consider you, but you're at the end of a long list that may not even get used. NAQT accepts wild cards from teams with year-long...

Re: Texas '08-'09
No wild cards were accepted at HSNCT this year. I don't know who would've told you otherwise. They filled their field of 192 without taking any wild cards, and will expect to do so indefinitely, I imagine. You're wrong. Dunbar B's bid was accepted until we decided to drop due to lack of interest du...

Re: Kentucky 09-10
Of course. We might be able to give you a discount possibly too if that makes it any more appealing for you. Although we would be disappointed if all our teams consisted of one person.jackatthedisco wrote: ...Can I play as a one-man team? Haha.

Re: Tournament Dates 2009–2010
I've been told Rockford Auburn is interested from Zahed, but he still needs to confirm with his coach. WOAH...I said it was an interesting proposition, but given costs, activities conflicts, and distance, probability was low if existent. And I was speaking for myself when I said playing against tea...

Re: Tournament Dates 2009–2010
People looking for a set for tournaments in the fall might want to contact Dunbar about mirroring their tournament . While we would love to see this get mirrored, we want to hold off until we get an idea of how interested Illinois teams will be in making the trek down to Lexington. I've been told R...

Re: Kentucky 09-10
Dunbar is planning a house-written fall high school tournament with a date yet to be decided upon. Our goal is to introduce good pyramidal quizbowl to other Kentucky teams. We know Gov Cup has provided most teams with the necessary base knowledge to compete at a possibly high level at national tourn...

Re: 2009 NAQT HSNCT
If players from your school knew that there was going to be trash in this tournament, why didn't you study for it? I powered the Queen tossup after about 8 words because I read the Wikipedia articles about Lady Gaga and Freddie Mercury. Now, I will admit, the elite teams at this tournament and PACE...

Re: Kentucky 08-09
It's unfortunate that Dunbar did not compete in the test or quarter finals. (Could someone explain why?) I'm pretty sure they competed or Victor wouldn't have gotten 1st place on the individual test. Unless they added a new team test instead of just adding up the individual test scores for a team. ...

Re: Kentucky NAQT
^That has a tendency to happen at Governor's Cup with their blind draw. Simulating Gov Cup State isn't really a good idea Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. We conducted a blind draw for prelims and will distribute this on Saturday. The final field is <l...

Re: NAQT distributions posted
It's disappointing to see Computation/Geography/"Sports"/Current Events/General Knowledge comprise 7.9/7 of a NAQT packet. Out of these 5 categories, "sport"'s distribution of 1.7/1.7 undercuts the "A" in NAQT the most. Why can't geography be reduced to 1/1 and "sp...
