Glancing at the distribution breakdown I'd say it's about 30%-35% of the content is pre-00s content, though this varies on which part of the distro (obviously theres very little things to ask about the internet of the 80s, but there is a fair amount of older sports or music questions).

This was really fun - challenging but it helped we had the king of 90s kids playing in our room. Other than one glaring omission this tournament (no spoilers but it was something I consider the epitome of the 90s along with a movie that did come up) was thorough and excellent.

An update: for several reasons, this tournament is likely to be held in Canada in September and October, with mirrors becoming available after the first site. We'll try to combo this with a tournament in Toronto.

I personally think that the current distribution and its biases neglects some areas and subjects that might engage players who have otherwise lost interest.

Derek So is an impressive trash player on top of his academic knowledge when he does play trash tournaments. Aayush is also better than he claims to be. A good deal of Canadian players play both well but not quite comparably.
