These are all very interesting and thought-provoking suggestions. However, I cannot come up with the unequivocal solutions until I commune with the fantasy league gods. Unfortunately, this may take anywhere from 2-6 weeks due to the massive overload of traffic at the Gods of Leagues of Fantasy (GOLF...

About the room assignments: They definitely try to stick you with a team member first. I think that if there is an odd number of boys or girls from your team, the oldest one has to room with someone else. I am fairly sure that they try to room by state/region. Our floor was almost exclusively Illino...

This reminds me of a tournament this year (I'm not sure if I should give the name or not) where the TD specifically asked teams to hold back and at least give the other team a chance to buzz first if a blowout was under way. That totally screwed our team up. It was a lot harder than you would think ...

I am going to be attending the SEMO camp this year, and I was wondering about my major. I've just finished my freshman year in high school, and the highest math classes I've already taken are Algebra II and Geometry. This fall, I will be taking Trigonometry first semester and Analytical Geometry sec...

I have noticed it makes more sense to be more aggressive against a better team. I know this all too well from personal experience. We played Sterling in the first round of the Masonic State Finals, and I don't think even they thought they had a real chance of winning. But lo! and behold, they playe...

You know, I was considering those very questions myself. Probably, I'll just write them. As far as a focus, I'm thinking a combination between my worst areas, the areas that our team needs as a whole, and some stuff off of whatever list or resource I'm currently flipping through. Carlo, you may be a...

Thank you, Dr. Chuck. Certainly a lot of food for thought. As far as Wikipedia goes, I think its excellent for gathering topics of interest and getting some relatively deep information on them. The best part of it is the hyperlinking within documents. I can go for hours on Wikipedia just jumping fro...

Re: Pyramidals and not?
...the ultimate goal of writing questions is to attain a sense of where a question should go. 1. Wouldn't this mainly entail examining questions written by others, preferably the source you will play with most of the time? 2. And thank you, by the way, for the speedy response. 3. Since I play in Il...

Writing Questions for Practice
I figured that this summer would be a great time to start writing questions to improve my own knowledge. Pretty much everyone I've talked to has agreed that that is one of the best ways to become a better player. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin. Can anyone give me some tips or techniques?

I like this idea. It might actually bring a kind of horse-racing flair into things. You know, the whole Triple Crown thing. Heck, if NAQT State works out well, then we could have a Quadruple Crown! However, the biggest problem with those ideas is probably funding. Of course, I'm just a freshman, so ...

That 9th article of the Constitution thing actually happened the exact same way to a team we were playing at either regionals or sectionals this year; you probably know which, Trevkeeper, considering it had to be the same question. Needless to say, when the poor guy on the other team said it, I near...

As for loud people, yeah, they can be really annoying. I remember a competition where there was a team that talked constantly during the toss-ups and it was really unnerving for me. Hunter, I was referring to loud machines, not people. Haven't you ever seen one of those thin-ish, window-height deal...

In all fairness, (and as Auburn's captain, I think I have the right to say this), Wheaton North beat us. End of story. Do I really think the score was nearly indicative of the team's talents? No. However, I would rather lose by 300 points than be a sore loser. I'm just looking forward to when we get...

Class A teams only hurt themselves when they going to a match against a Class AA team thinking about the unfair advantage of the other time. In my experience, at times when I let myself think too much about any deficit against any team, my reflexes are always slower, which only benefits the other te...
